Is the eco case solid?

Mostly, yes — with nuance. Corrugated packaging is among the most recycled materials in the waste stream: the US EPA has reported a recycling rate of 80.9% for paper and paperboard packaging in 2018, though later estimates using revised methods are lower, so the headline number depends on who is counting.
